Tasks

Tasks is the team's kanban board: cards with a description, assignee, due date, files and comments. Hand a card to an agent — the tasks assistant turns the discussion into a prompt, and the agent gets to work on your behalf.

How the board works#

  1. Four columns. “To do”, “In progress”, “In review”, “Done” — drag cards between them.
  2. Top — search and filter. “Search tasks” searches by ticker, title and description; “All tasks” switches to “My tasks” or one person’s tasks.
  3. New task and the notification bell.
  4. Right — the task card opens when you click it.

Every project has a board — the “Tasks” item under “Workspace”. “Tasks” in the company’s top menu gathers the cards of all projects on one board with a project picker.

01Task card#

Each card has a ticker — the project prefix and a number, for example CVPL-10. The card holds:

  • Status, assignee, due date — changed from dropdowns; an overdue date turns red;
  • Agent — which assistant the task can be handed to;
  • Description in Markdown with version history;
  • Files — upload from your computer or pick from the project library;
  • Comments with @ mentions: people, other tasks, characters, locations and props.

A mentioned person and a new assignee get a notification in the bell.

02Create a task#

New task — or “+” in a column header — opens an empty card: title, status, assignee, due date, agent, description and files. Create adds it to the top of the column.

Tip

A new project’s board already has starter cards: create the first character, add the first location, generate the first video.

03Hand the task to an agent#

In the “Agent” field, pick an assistant as the assignee: project, characters, locations, props, script or a specific shot — for CVPL-10 it is the shot 1.1.10 assistant.

The Hand off to agent button under the description opens a window with a prompt: the tasks assistant merges the description and comments into a final brief — decisions by leads outweigh remarks from members. Check the prompt, edit it if needed and click “Send”.

After sending:

  • the prompt goes to the chosen assistant’s chat on your behalf, and it gets to work;
  • the card gets a comment “Handed off to …” with a link to its chat.

Important

The agent does not change the card status — move it to “Done” yourself once you have checked the result. The description must be saved before the handoff, and for the shot assistant a shot must be selected.

04Tasks from the project assistant#

The project assistant creates and updates cards itself: ask it in chat, for example, “create tasks for the episode 2 characters and assign them to me”. It passes this to the hidden tasks assistant, and a “Tasks” badge with a status appears in the chat. Everything written by AI is marked with an “AI” badge.

What’s next#

Add the project team in the “Team” section — card assignees are picked from it.
